Super Blues Player of the Year 2009/10
As the season moves towards its end, all Super Blues members now have the opportunity to vote for their Shrewsbury Town Player of the Year. The awards will be presented at the Fans’ Player of the Year Evening, which will be held on Tuesday 11th May at The Greenhous Meadow.
Annual Newsletter 2009 - Highlights
The latest Super Blues Newsletter was sent to all members in July 2009.
2008/09 was another busy time for the Super Blues. We held a number of major events at The Greenhous Meadow, including a Sportman's Dinner with ex-Manchester City and Wolves star Steve Daley and our annual Boxing Dinner. We held our fourth annual Golf Day at Condover.
We also arranged two functions jointly with other local groups. Firstly back in June 2008, a successful 'Race Night' in the Powerleague Bar with Shawbury F.C. More recently, in May 2009, the highly enjoyable 'Night of Nostalgia' organised jointly with ShrewsTrust to mark the 30th and 50th anniversaries of previous promotion seasons.
The Super Blues raised over £30,000 for Shrewsbury Town Football Club over the last twelve months - thanks to all our members and friends. This is being used to pay for further important projects at The Greenhous Meadow.
As always we are extremely grateful for your support. The Super Blues continue to have almost 500 members and our work is greatly appreciated by the Chairman and Directors of the Football Club.
Celebration Badges
To celebrate the anniversary of winning the old 3rd division title 30 years ago, the Super Blues have produced a number of limited edition enamel badges. There are 2 designs (shield and circle) – each in four colourways, using combinations of blue & amber and red & black. 8 different badges in total are available at a cost of £3 each. Scratch Cards
A number of our members are already selling our new football scratch cards. Cards are only 50p each and prizes range from 50p to £400. There are 6 chances to win on each card. If you can help sell scratch cards please contact Chris Smith on 01952 604742.
The Last Farewell
The Super Blues have sponsored the publication of a new book that is a must for all Shrewsbury Town fans. The book - written by Super Blues member Steve Fletcher - contains a detailed record and photographs of the matches in our final season at Gay Meadow.
The Last Farewell contains 164 pages and costs £10. It is available from the Club Shop. All profits will go to Shrewsbury Town Football Club.
