Latest Projects 

The Super Blues have recently funded 4 new projects, which will benefit the Football Club and its fans.  These are: 

Goal Safety Netting – £2,000.      For use in the pre-match warm up. 

 Stadium Televisons Upgrade -  £2,000.  Part of a long term project to improve TV facilities on a match day.  

Borehole for Stadium – £5,000.  Construction of on-site borehole to provide water supply for irrigation of main pitch and      training  pitch.  

Stadium Protection Project – £2,000 (initial contribution).   A new project, starting in part of the East Stand, to provide doors for the vomitory exits to help safegaurd the stadium against the effects of bad weather. 

What happens to the money we raise?


All money raised by the Super Blues (less costs and monthly draw prizes) is donated to Shrewsbury Town Football Club. The money donated by the Super Blues is designated for specific projects. These projects may pay for extra equipment or facilities for the Football Club, directly benefit the fans or help the Club to generate more income. 

 

Projects at The Greenhous Meadow

The Super Blues have played their part in the development of Shrewsbury Town’s new home. The stadium has of given us the opportunity for more fundraising projects than ever before. At the first league game of the 2007/08 season the Super Blues presented S.T.F.C. Vice Chairman, Keith Sayfritz, with a cheque for almost £52,000 – probably the single biggest fans’ donation ever made to the Club. 

The Super Blues have funded a number of projects at The Greenhous Meadow. These include: 

  • the purchase and installation of the electronic scoreboard at a cost of £30,000
  • the ‘home’ and ‘away’ dug outs (£6,790)
  • the six foot retractable players’ tunnel (£2,850)
  • 60 brand new radios and associated equipment for stewards at the stadium (£12,260)
  • satellite TV licences for the whole ground (£3,800)
  • drug testing and toilet facilities (£TBA)
  • public address system and portable dance floor for the main function suite (£TBA)
  • a new entry/exit gate to The Greenhous Meadow (£TBA)
  • Satellite TV licences for The Greenhous Meadow.  Cost £3,800.
  • New tractor for use by grounds staff.  Cost £3,500.
  • 10 metal kiosks for programme sellers to increase sales.  Cost £1,750.
  • New exercise bike, treadmill and treatment table for stadium gym – the existing exercise bike will be used at the training ground.  Cost £4,000.
  • Camcorder, new PC, software and other equipment which will produce DVDs for sale.  Cost £3,000
  • Washing machine and tumble drier for use by Kit Man.  Cost £440.
  • Moveable fencing for use at the away end, outside the ground.  Cost TBA.
  • Portable barriers for use around brick areas outside Main Reception on match days.  Cost TBA.
  • Mannequins for use on training ground.  Cost TBA.

The total cost of the projects at The Greenhous Meadow paid for by the Super Blues is currently over £100,000. 

Player Sponsorship


As you will see in the Match Programme, the Super Blues sponsor two first team players for the 2011/12 season. These are Carl Regan (home) and Terry Gornell (away).

Past Projects


Over the last ten years the Super Blues have donated more than £200,000 to Shrewsbury Town Football Club. We have funded a number of important projects, many of which have allowed the Club to generate more income, improve efficiency or provide better facilities for fans. 

Past projects have included paying for the following items: 

  • new grass cutting equipment
  • moveable goals and ‘defensive wall’ for training ground
  • IT equipment
  • gym equipment
  • shirt printing equipment
  • many projects linked to former Gay Meadow, including former Club Shop and floodlight upgrades
